Baby Report

My appointment with my O.B. went really well today. He will have me come in twice a week at 30 weeks to monitor Baby B's growth since she has a double vessel cord. The main worry is she won't continue to get an adequate supply of nutrients. I can't believe we are almost to week 26 of this pregnancy....it is flying by!
This is our first full week of summer and one of the only weeks Anna Cate and Brian don't have camps to attend. We are enjoying slow mornings, easy days, and later bedtimes.

Beautiful Weekend

We are seeing progress in the nursery! My precious younger sister came to help paint on Friday and it looks adorable.

Don't let the pictures fool you, Anna Cate and Brian were allowed to do a few swipes with the brush and then Todd took them bowling!
Summer is officially here.....it is hot, humid, and we are out of school. The pool we go to hasn't opened yet, so we spent yesterday playing in the town green fountains. So fun! Camps don't start until next week, so I have a feeling we may be at the fountains a lot this week.

Baby Report

I had an appointment with the perinatologist today and one with my regular OB yesterday. Both babies look great and all seems well.
Weights
Baby A : 1lb 14oz
Baby B : 1lb 15oz
The only concern is Baby B's umbilical cord has a single artery instead of two. After looking at her, heart, brain, and kidneys, it seems everything is fine, but they will continue to moniter her. Right now she is measuring 1oz bigger- yeah! I also had my glucose test yesterday, but haven't gotten the results back. Hopefully I will soon so I can resume my daily sweet tea from Chik-Fil A....I bet they miss seeing me!!
We got some adorable ultrasound pictures but my printer/scanner is having an issue, so I'll have to wait to put those up.
We have moved Anna Cate in Brian's room and they love it! I guess because they have always slept together anyway, it's an easy transition. Work is progressing in the nursery....slowly but surely.

Pre-K Graduation

Yesterday was Anna Cate and Brian's last day of Pre- K. I woke up teary and it just got worse as the day progressed. Not to mention, we arrived at the program thinking I had everything: camera, video camera, teacher's gifts. Well, the camera wasn't charged and the video camera only had one disc with a few minutes on it....then the tears really started! So, the pictures I'll post are from last Thursday, when we celebrated Anna Cate and Brian's pretend birthdays at their school.

Brian won the "Most Humble Spirit" award in his class.

Anna Cate won the "Most Helpful Spirit" award in her class.

The whole school performed in a circus that was just adorable. We have finally decided on a school for the children next year. It will be so wonderful for them and I know they will thrive , but I'm very sad to be leaving our sweet pre-school!

Last Monday night, Anna Cate auditioned for a part in Peter Pan with our local theatre group. I sat in awe as my little fearless darling pranced up on stage, sang, and read script like she had been waiting all her life for this moment. Around 150 children auditioned so we had to have many talks about the fact that she may not get chosen this time ,but she can keep trying, Well, she got cast as a fairy!! We are so proud of her! Tonight was our first meeting and we will practice pretty much every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday for the WHOLE summer. Did I mention the play itself runs mid-August? Right about the time this next set of twins makes their debut most likely!!

Wrapping Up

Yesterday was the End of the Year Party for Anna Cate and Brian's pre-k class. They actually don't finish until next Tuesday, but their teachers grilled out and brought water toys. I can not believe this year is almost over. We have been so blesssed to have such great teachers. It's so hard to believe they will be kindergarteners next year- where does the time go?

Tonight was also the last Wednesday night supper/choir/ Bible study for the school year. All of the children's choirs sang for us after dinner.

A crazy picture, but I was trying to capture the whole congregation being led in "Father Abraham" by the kids choir!

Mother's Day Weekend

We started out the weekend by celebrating Samuel's 6th birthday with him Friday afternoon. As seems to be our custom lately, Anna Cate took a huge spill over the side of an inflatable bounce house. Very frightening, but she was fine after a few minutes.

Friday night we went to an outdoor concert with lots of great friends. The kids had a blast dancing with their glow sticks!

Sunday morning the kids and Todd let me sleep in until....8a.m. I can't think of the last time that happened and with these 2 on the way, I imagine it will be a while before it happens again. The kids made gifts for me in their classes. Brian drew a picture of me and him with flowers around us. This is so special because Brian isn't a huge fan of coloring or drawing. Anna Cate made a picture frame that holds a picture of her with one of the butterflies her class raised over the spring. It is exciting and strange to imagine that we will have 2 more precious little ones with us at this time next year. I can't wait!!

Today has been a momentous day in our house- we have our first bone break and cast. After swim class yesterday, we met up with some friends at the playground. Instead of coming down the slide the normal way, Anna Cate attempted to come down on the little side lip. She fell off but seemed ok. We met Todd for dinner, came home, did our nightly bedtime routine and she seemed fine. Fast forward to 12a.m. this morning- She came in our room upset and tripped over Max who was sprawled out at the foot of the bed. She caught herself with her already hurt arm- ouch! So, this morning our wonderful pediatrician got us right in and sent us straight to the orthopedists. Both bones at the wrist are cracked, so she is in a cast for 4 weeks. I was shocked by how far casts how come- every color in the rainbow and they even have waterproof. I am amazed by my girl's great attitude and wonderful spirit. She embraced the whole experience as a wonderful adventure. Hopefully this will be the last broken bone in our family, but if these next little girls are like their big sister, I somehow doubt it!

As you can she, she hasn't missed a beat!

What a fun day! Anna Cate and Brian's classes got to go to a local baseball game for Education Day. We have Anna Cate and Brian in different classes and it seems to work well, except when there is an activity that involves both classes doing something at the same time. Luckily, Todd was able to meet up with us, so he sat with Anna Cate and I sat with Brian.

The kids were interested in the game for the first few innings and then decided it was more fun to hang out in the suite.

We have had a busy but really fun weekend. We started off Friday going to a sweet friends prince and princess birthday party. Anna Cate was of course very excited about dressing up and planned what she would wear on Thursday. Brian was adamant that he didn't want to dress up like a prince and he would "just be normal." At the last minute he changed his mind, so Anna Cate helped him make a construction paper crown and he threw on some Mardi Gras beads from the dress-up bin.

Saturday was Anna Cate's dance recital so we headed to the beauty shop early that morning to have her hair put in a bun.

Todd was busy with an obligation at church, so Brian got to tag along as well. This pretty much sums up what he thought of it all.

Both sets of grandparents and Aunt Lauren came to watch Anna Cate dance. She had a wonderful time and danced beautifully!

**I know the pictures are messed up on this post....I'm still trying to get the hang of this!
